Makes Getting Paid
To Surf the Web A Reality
An Advertising Revolution In The
Making as Consumers Get Paid
To Watch Ads -- Fastest-Growing Internet Company In History is Managing Its Growth For The
Long Haul
Hayward, Calif.June 25, 1999AllAdvantage.com
today announced its initial cash payment rates for Internet users who use the company's
communications device, the Viewbar, bringing into reality the consumer's dream of
getting paid to watch ads. Right out of the box, the 80-days old company will cover the
first ten hours each member spends online with the Viewbar - and up to ten hours for
each of the referrals that members have brought into the fastest-growing community in
Cyberspace. By using the Viewbar, Internet users will be able to receive customized
messages tailored to their individual profiles. The launch of the "Get Paid To
Watch" program underlines the extraordinary reception that the company has
experienced since its founding in March of this year.
"This is a great day for
consumers," said Jim Jorgensen, CEO of AllAdvantage.com. "At last, the
marketplace is recognizing the value of their time and attention. By sharing the
advertising revenues generated by our members' economic clout and lively interests,
AllAdvantage.com is creating a community of interest that benefits all the stakeholders in
AllAdvantage.com, including members and advertisers and the dedicated people who have put
this challenging program together over the past 10 weeks."
AllAdvantage.com's goal is to provide
cash payments and referral bonuses for up to 40 hours of surfing time using the Viewbar.
"We expect to move towards 40 as our sponsorship base builds. Based on the enthusiasm
we found in the New York advertising community at our launch party there last week, that
shouldn't take long," said Johannes Pohle, Head of Community Relations at
AllAdvantage.com.
The company pointed out that it was
planning for the long haul. Mass release of the Viewbar will be started next week on
a first-come, first-serve basis. Other member benefits will be announced shortly.
AllAdvantage.com is also investing $10 million in developing its data-collecting and
processing capabilities. The decision announced today is part of this long-term strategy.
"We are a force to be reckoned with," said Jorgensen. "We are managing this
business for the long haul: there is so much value here for our members, for our
advertisers, and for our investors." |
